Abstract

Serbia has high-quality natural, social and human resources for the development of rural tourism. The problem of rural tourism is that supply is located in rural areas and demand is located in city centers. Role of marketing is to connect supply and demand. Until now demand for rural tourism is mostly come from domestic market, but the interest of tourists come from a broad. The promotion of rural tourism, as an additional activity on agricultural farms, is important in many ways. Primarily for the purpose of increasing tourist traffic, but also the development of agrarian entrepreneurship, increasing the income of agricultural farms, as well as stopping process of depopulation rural areas in the Serbia. Nowadays exsist many maketing tools how to communcate opposite sides of market – supply and demand. In order to develop promotion in rural tourism, adequate investments are also needed. The aim of the paper is to analyze the current forms of promotion of rural tourism, as well as to present development opportunities in this important segment of the marketing mix.
