Abstract

The Box schemes, as a part of Alternative Food Networks are increasingly present at the global market. The Box schemes, or more precisely the choice of adequate food supplier represents the complex process. It involves quite a subjective approach of the decision-makers in selecting the proper food supplier. Process of selection mainly has to assess individual and grouped influence of several predefined criteria linked to offered alternatives, while based on their cumulative importance to support the choose of optimal solution. Nowadays, there are in use many multicriteria decision making methods. Depending on the research objective they are applied individually or in hybrid form. In performed research, selection of the most suitable food supplier has been done by the hybrid use of fuzzy LOPCOW and fuzzy RAWEC methods. Besides discovering the optimal solution for decision maker, this research has tested the applied methods in agri-food sector. It has also proved the possibilities for further improvement of both, the used methods, or observed selection criteria.
