Abstract
In contemporary capitalist economies, the environmental taxation contributes significantly in shaping a more responsible environmental behavior, both in case of the companies and of the population. Applying a well-proportioned tax policy in the field of environmental protection can also stimulate the achievement of specific circular economy objectives by suppressing production patterns that do not take into account the reintroduction of recycled raw materials and awarding of those who promote environmental friendly production. The main aim of this paper is to analyze the role of environmental taxation in promoting circular economy objectives, by taking into consideration some of the specific indicators.
