Abstract

The integration of Serbian companies into global agro-industrial chains, particularly in the raspberry sector, has brought significant changes in business operations and distribution. Prior to 2014, Serbian companies such as Yugent Food and Frucom Food were dependent on intermediaries, leading to price fluctuations and uncertainty in product placement. However, following the acquisition by Roger Descours Group, raspberries were directly marketed, resulting in more stable prices and better conditions for producers. While the benefits of integration are evident, such as business stability and increased revenues, challenges have emerged, such as increased dependency on a single major buyer, France. This paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of this model, as well as potential development directions for the sector, including market diversification and the development of processed products.
